Metro gas’s Mission is to create wealth for our shareholders by marketing, delivering competitive and innovative Gas supply solutions projects in key markets throughout Pakistan.
Metro gas is owned by highly distinguished individuals with an excellent repute in energy sector particularly in natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and overall energy sector. MGL has direct prior experience in LNG supply chain as consultant/stakeholder in Pakistan. Metro gas has partnered up with some of the leading LNG suppliers of the world to provide uninterrupted gas supply to its customers. The group credentials includes first company to introduce alternate fuel such as LPG air mix, industrial and city gas in Pakistan as a backup fuel for natural gas.
Metro Gas visions to bring gas beyond pipelines. Metro Gas plans to connect consumers through virtual pipelines with several gas sources surpassing the reach of conventional pipelines and providing energy to isolated regions. This technology allows to transport gas by road an to deliver it at the right pressure and according to the demand of the consumer. Metro Gas is working on end to end solution for industries and power plants through LNG ISO Containers. We will be delivering LNG to smaller, remote, off-grid power plants, CNG stations and industrial users.
LNG is a clear, colorless and non-toxic liquid which forms when natural gas is cooled to -162 degree Celsius (-260 degree Fahrenheit). The cooling process shrinks the volume of the gas by 600 times, making it easier and safer to store and ship. In its liquid state, LNG will not ignite.
When LNG reaches its destination, it is turned back into a gas at regasification plants. It is then piped to homes, businesses and industries where it is burnt for heat or to generate electricity. LNG is now also emerging as a cost-competitive and cleaner transport fuel, especially for shipping and heavy-duty road transport.
LNG is a clear, non-corrosive, non-toxic, cryogenic liquid at normal atmosphere pressure. It is odorless.
The density of LNG is about 3.9 pounds per gallon, compared to the density of water which is about 8.3 pounds per gallon. LNG if spilled on water, floats on top and vaporizes rapidly because it is lighter than water. Thus LNG does not harm aquatic life.
LNG vapors are lighter than air and dissipates quickly. LNG does not react chemically with the air leaving behind no residue.
LNG does not leave flammable residue on surface.
LNG does not leave behind slicks, sludge or other marks.
Liquid methane does not burn, only the vapors are flammable, but only with lazy flame.
ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY:
LNG is better than any other fossil fuel for the environment. The combustion of natural gas releases significantly less CO2, NOx and SO2 and virtually no ash or particulates. As it evaporates rapidly when exposed to air, it leaves no residue on water or soil.
COST EFFECTIVE:
LNG is the most economical fuel. It is much cheaper than petrol, diesel, LPG and furnace oil.
Residential usage such as cooling, cooking, etc.
Industrial usage such as electricity generation, power plants, etc.
Commercial usage, fuel for furnace and boilers in a variety of manufacturing industries.
Fuel used in natural gas vehicles (ex: trucks, marine bunkering, etc.)
Economical: You can buy on different suppliers which makes the fuel cheap.
Quality: Normally LNG has more quality than pipeline gas.
No Load-shedding: Supply is consistent, reliable and without interruptions.
Access: Access to locations with road access because we deliver LNG by trucks and do not rely on the existing gas pipeline transmission/distribution network.
Environment: Use of less polluting fuels enables reduction of gas emissions on a global scale.
No Significant Investment: The fuel dispensing methods remain the same with small investment in LNG storage tank and regasification equipment at consumer’s premises.
Container vessel arrives at the destination port.
ISO Containers are offloaded from the vessel and are mounted on flatbed trucks/ prime movers.
Containers full of LNG are driven from port to our customer’s filling stations, industrial sites and residential settlements all over Pakistan.
Filling stations, industrial users and housing societies receive LNG by trucks at their doorstep for consumption. Loaded ISO containers can be parked on the customer’s site or unloaded into an onsite LNG storage tank. Home time for LNG storage tank is 100 days. Each customer site is equipped with gas regulator, vaporizer, dispenser ad regasifier. The equipment is customized for each need and installed by our technical teams who also train our customer staff.
Empty ISO containers are returned to the port and operation repeats.
The ISO tank containers have the advantage to offer a flexible and reliable supply solution, convenient transportation mode, competitive prices and high LNG hold time inside the cryogenic tanks.
Metro Gas provides LNG by containers directly at the customers sites and they can use the tanks for storage purpose or they can use the product immediately by using a simple and low cost gasification module.
The LNG containers meet the laws and regulations required across the world for transportation of liquefied natural gas by sea, road and railway.
One ISO tank of 40 foot contains approximately 18MT. This is equivalent to about 910 MMBTU.
The LNG container is equipped with a built-in temperature measuring device, monitoring the temperature of the liquefied natural gas inside the tank in real time.
The design of the tank and the manufacturing process enables the LNG to stay in the tank for more than 100 days.
Ever since its establishment in 2006 Metrogas guiding principles of quality, delivery and effectiveness invariably result in the highest degree of satisfaction of its customers. The fact that we acquire ISO and API certified products from the world’s chief manufacturers and our ability to invoke our resources worldwide admirably assists us in achieving our goal.
